Drawings

Fabia's drawing is based on observation, but like her sculpture it is preoccupied with structure. Whatever she draws, she looks for the energy and spirit that animates what she sees and the underlying structure which gives it form.

People

In her drawings of people Fabia seeks to grasp what lies beyond the outer surface and works from the outside inwards and back outwards again, slowly building up each image through a process of repeated drawing and rubbing out.

Nudes

In her drawings from life she looks to the anatomical structure which lies beneath the skin.

Museum drawings

Fabia has drawn in museums since she was a child and has always found it liberating, challenging how she looks at things and tries to to grasp them.

Landscapes

Her landscape drawings focus on the rhythms and structure she sees in the natural forms around her.
